By the end of 2006, more than 5,000 Chinese investment entities had set up 10,000 enterprises in foreign countries through direct investment; and China's net value of direct investment in foreign countries totaled 91 billion US dollars, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the State Foreign Exchange Administration.
In 2006, the net value of China's direct investment in foreign countries was 21 billion US dollars, ranking 13th in the world.
